Sebastiaan Hooghiemstra is an associate in the regulatory and investment funds practice of NautaDutilh Luxembourg. He specializes in financial services regulatory, with a focus on fund regulatory, and fund formation. He is a Senior Research Fellow at Erasmus University Rotterdam and has a strong academic background with 50+ publications mainly related to investment fund law. Sebastiaan, amongst others, advised the Liechtenstein government on its AIFMD, UCITSD IV and CRD IV implementations, the Dutch Ministry of Finance on depositaries under IORPD II, the European Commission on a regulatory framework for PEPPs, ESMA on the introduction of a European depositary passport and, recently, the Dutch Financial Markets Authority on its contribution in the European Commission's 5 year revision of the AIFMD. He regularly lectures and speaks at (international) conferences.
