The thinkBLOCKtank aims to be the association with the broadest and deepest knowledge in the crypto-space, especially when it comes to regulatory issues. Melvin Tjon Akon

Melvin Tjon Akon is a lawyer and economist who uses data science to assist financial institutions and corporates with the implementation of their financial strategies. He currently works as an associate at a major Luxembourg law firm, where he specializes in capital market transactions, structured finance and financial services. Melvin studied Finance (Rotterdam School of Management) and Law & Economics (University of Chicago). He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2016. Prior to practicing law, Melvin worked as a research assistant for several multinational law firms and the Dutch Competition authority, as a judicial clerk for the Dutch Industry & Trade Tribunal and as a business analyst for an international consumer electronics company. 

Prof. Dr. Heribert Anzinger

Prof. Dr. Heribert Anzingers research focus lies on corporate tax law as well as corporate law and capital markets law. Current research projects include Smart contracts, Computational Methods in Law, Private and Tax Law issues of applications of data science and distributed ledger technologies.

He is co-initiator joint interdisciplinary research initiative Universities Heidelberg and Ulm on Computational Methods in Law and supervising member of the Digital Law Doctoral College at the University of Heidelberg. He is founding member of the thinkBLOCKtank.    

Audrey Rouach Bavarel

Audrey Rouach Baverel is a Digital and Crypto tax / Fintech advisor / ICO advisor. She has strong tax experience from a senior position within the big 4 and bank industry (10 years) followed by in-house key tax position in a worldwide leader of e-commerce. She focusses on digital and blockchain related projects (e.g. development VAT modules, cryptoeconomics, digital financing platforms) and is an active promoter of cryptoassets, co-leading the discussion with Luxembourg tax and accounting authorities. She also serves as the Treasurer of Letzblock, the Luxembourg Blockchain and DLT Association.

Niels Gade-Jacobsen is Partner and Head of Blockchain of Njord Law Firm. Dr. Ian Maywald is senior associate corporate department of Ashurst in Frankfurt since 2014. Prior experience includes positions as associate at a major international UK and at a major international US law firm in Frankfurt, and secondments to two Swiss based banks. Ian specializes in corporate finance and capital markets law, with an emphasis on cross-border transactions, ECM deals as well as digital economy. Nejc Novak, Founder of Novak Law, devotes most of his work to issues related to business and commercial law, in particular statutory law, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and insolvency. He is focused on advising clients on complex commercial transactions. Nejc pays particular attention to start-ups and angel/VC investors.
