Josef Bergt is a Legal Fintech Expert and Senior Associate at NÄGELE Attorneys at Law LLC, Vaduz, where he advises both national and international technology and industrial companies and counsels internet and blockchain based projects. He advises and deals primarily with regulatory and capital market law aspects as well as litigation in civil and commercial law and also provides related legal advice.
Specialized in the fields of Capital Markets Law, Corporate Law and IT Law with a comprehensive expertise with Regulatory Frameworks of Financial Markets and FinTechs, in particular with regard to Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT) such as Blockchains and Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAG) including Token Offerings such as Initial Coin Offerings/Token Generating Events/Security Token Offerings (ICO/TGE/STO), establishment of regulated financial intermediaries and licensing of financial institutions, as well as drawing up securities prospectuses. As a data protection officer, he also has profound knowledge of data protection and the GDPR.
With regards to academia he is currently finalizing his PhD thesis in the Liechtenstein corporate law at the Private University of the Principality of Liechtenstein (UFL) as well as a combined master thesis on tokens as dematerialized securities & token offerings and decentralized trading venues at the University of Liechtenstein in the LLM programme for Corporate Law and the LLM programme for Banking and Finance.
